Star (aka Maggie)

Whowww! Life's lessons have hit me hard and fast. While I was forced to fend for myself, I suddenly found myself in survival mode for not only myself, but also for my puppies (Latte and Mocka). I didn't know what to think when I was literally taken from a ditch and thrown in jail. I'm told word got out about my puppies and me, and that is how MTGRR came to rescue us. I was really wide eyed for a couple of days, and still have times that I'm pretty frightened. I am learning that there are good people, and beginning to let my guard down. It sure is nice to be able to take little breaks away from Latte and Mocka without the constant need to worry about their safety.
Between the worry, nursing puppies, and living in a ditch, I have lost too much weight. My foster family is making sure I am getting the nutrition I need to nurse these glutenous puppies, and begin to get some of my weight back. I don't have to set the bar very high after my time of finding my own food, but the food I get here is sooooo delicious.
After I wean Latte and Mocka, I'm going to get spayed so I don't have any more babies. I wish that had been done before! Don't get me wrong. I love these two pups. But, I'm barely older than a puppy, myself.
I'm hoping I can go right to my forever home when I'm finished bringing Latte and Mocka to their own. Since I'm very small (probably about 35-40 pounds when ideal weight), I am ideal for any household situation. I am beginning to walk really good on the leash, I am quiet, and am responding really good to love. I get scared sometimes when someone goes to pet me. But, I don't do anything bad, like growl, snarl, or bark. I just instinctively flinch a little. BUT, I'm getting better about that too. As I get more affection, I will eventually understand no one is going to hurt me, and stop the instinctive flinch reflex.
I better get back to Mocka and Latte. They want to pull up to the lunch wagon, AGAIN.

Harley

Are you looking for a friend who is free spirited? Maybe the friend is young enough to be playful, yet old enough to understand the rules. Looking for a friend who won't judge you? Do you like to ride with the wind in your face? That's me, Harley!!!
It might take me a day or two to adjust to a new environment. But, if you show me love and patience, I work through the change really well. It's tough when you don't know why you've been dumped. I know with the way things are today, there are lots of reasons why people relinquish even terrific dogs. But, I never thought it would happen to me. I mean, I'm handsome, well mannered (like I don't do my business in the house), don't mind taking an afternoon nap with you, I'm handsome (Oh yah! I said that, huh). So, here I am, living in a great foster home and playing with their dog. But, what I need is for someone to make me a permanent part of their family. My temporary arrangement is okay for a little while. But, I really want a dude, or chickie (oh sorry. That's the dog coming out in me. I should have said a very nice female), or nice couple, or family to have a forever life with. I'm not really particular about the arrangement. I just want to move in with you, and get settled. So for a good time, submit your application for me, Harley.
You can learn more about me, and find the application to adopt me on the MTGRR website: www.rescueagolden.org

Luckey Dog

This is me about three months ago.
This is me more recently. I hate to brag on myself. But, I sure am growing into a very handsome boy. Wouldn't you agree? I am still less than a year old. I was found as a stray. MTGRR is adopting me at a discounted $50. It isn't because I'm flawed, or undesireable, or anything bad. I am Luckey enough to have someone donate most of my adoption fee. How cool is THAT! The person who adopts me will get a super handsome Golden mix with a pure heart of Gold, for $50! Let me show you some more of my handsome pictures and tell you a little more about myself. You will see there is no bragging coming from this Luckey dog.
Even as a puppy, I know there is time for play, and time for chillin. I totally enjoy some time snuggling next to my people. Want to spoon???
Just so you know I'm not bragging on myself, I'll share how my foster family describes me: "typical puppy, has a GREAT personality, sweet, rides well in the car, gets along with other dogs, and loves human companionship. Luckey has a normal curiosity about cats. He does not bark at them. If told 'NO', he won't chase the cats when they take off. Luckey is doing a good job of 'catching on' to house-training skills."
I've been neutered (I don't know why they took those from me. They said, "You don't need these, Luckey". I guess I didn't need them, because I'm not missing them), updated on all my shots, vet checked, and I've been declared healthy. If interested in me and want to adopt me, fill out an application at www.rescueagolden.org
I need to move on so this Grreat Group can help more of us dogs in need. When I see someone walk up to the door with a leash in their hand, I'll know you are here to take me home. See you soon!

Beamer (AKA Bowen) Loves Life in His Forever Home

Hey, MTGRR dogs. Don't give up your dreams of a forever home. It will happen when the best family for you comes along.
My New forever family always wanted a BMW. But, they have replaced that dream with me! So, they decided to rename me, Beamer. Isn't it Grreat! They figured I would be more fun than a spiffy car. I will make a note to self. Don't let them down. I know I won't.
I'm not bragging here. I want to share one of life's peculiar ways of winding its way to new adventures. I am loving life with my NEW forever family. We are together ALL the time! My forever family have their own business. This allows for me to go with them. They even have a younger employee who likes me. We have great times together. Ohhhh. There are these big, I mean REALLY BIG dogs in the pasture next door. They don't bark like us smaller dogs. They sure like that grass though. I'm not too sure about those dogs. They are odd! I am exhausted after a day at work. I sure am looking forward to our upcoming vacation at a lake house. I see swimming, loving, and more time with my people.
LIFE IS Grreat! I better go see what those BIG dogs are doing.

Scarlett Wants to Go Home

Tara!...Home. I'll go home, and I'll think of some way to get him back! After all, tomorrow is another day!"
I don't understand. Why did I end up in a shelter? What did I do? I love people and other dogs. I'm not self-centered like that 'Scarlett' in Gone with the Wind. I'm no problem. Not to mention, my petite size makes me quite easy to handle. When is someone going to say, Oh! Scarlett! I don't give a damn if you are a recycled, part Golden, adult. I've been waiting all my life for you. And HERE YOU ARE!?
I have a great foster family. I just want to be part of a forever family. Throwing paw kisses to MTGRR, their foster families, and all the dogs they have rescued. Tomorrow is another day! But, there's no day like today.

Gunner

I have bounced around since my life in a pen. Finally, I am in a great foster home. My foster mom says I'm one of the lucky ones. Without foster families, the rescue cannot help all the dogs that need to be saved from shelters, poor conditions, and the other avenues of rescue.
I am taking in the events of the past day, as my eyes have opened to a world of so many things.
I am very shy. However, I watch EVERYTHING (including my foster sister), and it seems pretty cool. While I love the freedom to run out the backdoor, into a nice fenced yard, I prefer that my foster mom goes with me at first.
My foster mom says I am a good car rider. I even took a nap on the way home from the water hole. We went to this big water hole you people call a lake. I guess I thought I could walk on water, as I went right in. But, when I discovered I couldn’t touch the bottom, I hurried back out to the comfort of my foster family. It will be awhile before I try that again! Then I went on this big boat. I climbed the steps very well. Mostly, I follow my foster folks lead. Whenever they are up doing things I'm right there to check it out. But, if they sit down, then I relax, and even sneak in a nap. My foster mom finds me tilting my head at all of the new sounds, like this thing called a dryer, and a dishwasher. The noises in the neighborhood haven’t bothered me, nor do they interest me. What is it you people say? You learn something new every day! We'll I'm sure learning, and what I'm learning is pretty great! Hey! Look at that stuff going around and around in the dryer! Fun!!!
I am in deed a lucky dog! I’ll keep you posted on the good life, while I dream of my forever home. Maybe my forever home will have a laid back dog, and folks who are around a lot.
You can learn more about me, and find an application to bring me into your loving home on the MTGRR website: www.rescueagolden.com

Chewey is looking for a home

Hi! Chewey is my name. I have 6 1/2 years of pure Gold running through my body! You wouldn't know that until a short time ago, I spent my life attached to a chain. I'm not looking back on my past. I have a passion for the 'Now' and the 'Future'. My 'Now', includes a great ride in my temporary home. I love EVERYONE (big, small, two legs, four legs, chunky, or skinny) and EVERYTHING (walks, laying around, car rides, jogging, a little alone time... doesn't matter). I'm simply an easy going guy looking forward to a 'Future' in a permanent, loving, and caring home. What do you get, besides an obviously very handsome, easy-going, devoted companion for life? Hey! Isn't that enough! Okay, there is an added bonus. But, you are going to have to figure out what it is after you adopt me. I can't show all my good cards. Visit the MTGRR website to learn more about me (http://www.rescueagolden.org). You can find the application to adopt me on the website too. I'll be looking for your application. Hint about the bonus: You don't need a rainbow.

After a couple of nights at my adoptive home, my adopters discovered they were not over the loss of their dog who recently passed away. They wanted to be fair to me, and allow me to have the very best life possible. So, they talked to the Golden Group at MTGRR and explained their problem. Boy! Was I lucky to get to come back to my BFFs Meadow, Oliver, Sara, and Murphee (the cat), not to forget mentioning my foster pop. It was just like I had never left! We wrestle, tease each other, and even nap together. I'm told there is another forever family interested in me. Yipee! Another one of life's adventures. I get to meet so many nice people! Has anyone ever noticed my sexy eyebrows???
Uh! Hey Bowen! Do you happen to have an opposing thumb so you can open this door?
If you would like to view some videos of me and my temporary family, check out the MTGRR Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/RescueAGolden?v=wall (you may have to do a copy and paste on the URL line). I told you I was smart! :-)

Bowen Adopted

I'm so excited! I'm on my way to a new Forever Home! I can tell, these people are really going to spoil me. Ooops, spoil isn't the correct word. These people are going to be quite accommodating to my every need and want. There! That sounds better! Right??? I will be an only dog, and spend just about every waking moment with my new human mom. I can see us snuggling together, taking nice walks, and playing at the dog park in the area. I believe there is a life of love, fun, and attention in my future. I hope all the other dogs at MTGRR have as happy an ending as me. Hope to see you at the MTGRR picnic in October!

5 Month Old Adoptable, Bowen

I'm Bowen. My previous family surrendered me because their senior dog and I didn't mesh well. Since I am loving the dogs in my foster family, and doing well with them and the cat, it is obvious the problem was not me. I am having a super time here! But, my foster family (while they would like to) can't keep me forever. While I am a 5 month old puppy, I'm quite big for my age. I have aspirations of being a basketball player, maybe. I will love you up, play with you and any other dogs you might have, and listen to your every word. I am completely house-trained, and don't mind sleeping in a crate. But, if you are inclined to have me sleep with you, I'm on-board with that too. Today, I enjoyed my first swim lesson. I love to swim! We can even swim together. Or, you can stand on the shore, throw the toy, and I will fetch it for you. See how easy I am to get along with! If you are wanting a forever companion, I'm your dude! You can find out more about me on the MTGRR website http://www.rescueagolden.org/RP_AdoptMe.asp?aid=1408
That is me on the right. I keep thinking I want to be just like my foster brother, Oliver. My foster family say I'm just like my foster sister, Meadow, when she was my age. In fact, sometimes the call me Meadow Junior (MJ for short). Everybody thinks Meadow and Oliver are great dogs, so I guess being like either of them is okay too.
Am I not an adorable adoptable! Don't forget to check me out on the MTGRR website!
