Power to the Puppy!!!

We pups had a blast at adoption day today. It was terrific seeing and playing with my brothers, Pete and Yancy, and my sister, Roxie.  I (Bella) am one tired pup.  I may just sleep for a week. Dream on world!!! I'll be ready to start all over again after my power nap. :-)

Supper???

I'm Pete and I'm ready! Got snacks?

I'm also ready to play, or go for a walk, or wade in the lake or splash in the baby pool.
I'm up for fun!!  And guess what? This Saturday (April 30) is Adopty Day! Yippee!

Me and my brothers and sisters will all be at the Farm at Nachez Trace to meet you.
We all want to get 'dopted so we can have wonderful forever homes. If you need a
Perfect Puppy, just ask for Pete. I'm your guy!  I sit, fetch, come when called, play nicely with others (even Oliver-The-Cat) and best of all, I'm just about, almost, nearly completely housebroken! (Well, I do the best I can.)

I'm Pete - Are you my PERSON???

Hi...my name is Pete and I’m an orphan, but I’m staying with a really great foster family. I have a mom and a dad who love me even though I'm "temporary", whatever that means.  I also have a foster brother named Hershey who romps with me all the time. We love to splash in the baby pool together!

Hershey is a really big golden retriever who used to be an orphan just like me til he got  ‘dopted. He says I should just be patient and not give up hope and someone special will come to get me someday.

So I’m very hopeful and I try not to be sad. I would really, really, really like to have my very own Person. Somebody to play with me, and take me for walks and for swims and who will play fetch with me. I LOVE to play fetch. (How come they're called tennis balls??? Shouldn't they be called "fetch balls"?)

Maybe my Person would even let me sleep on the bed like Hershey does!! (I sleep in a nice cozy crate at night but it's kinda lonesome.  My foster mom says she doesn’t want me to learn habits my Person may not like,  so I’m not allowed on the furniture and I’m not allowed treats from the table. BUT…she says when I get my own Person that might change!)

Meanwhile my fosters have taught me how to walk on a leash, and come when I’m called and how to sit quietly for a treat, and they have convinced me it’s much better to go outside to pee, ‘cause that way you don’t get yelled at. So I do. They also taught me that cats are our friends. (Could'a fooled me...they seem so chaseable!) )

I know my brothers’ and sisters’ pictures are on this Web site, too, and we are all extremely cute as well as smart and healthy, so you will have a hard time choosing between us. But just the same, I REALLY hope you will pick me and become my forever Person. (And play with me every day!)

I promise to be the best dog you ever had.

Blossom

Blossom has arrived! I have come to a new foster home. There is another dog, Martie, here that seems very friendly. She lets me follow her around but I learned I can't get in her face. Since I stay BUSY most of the day it is a good thing that there are lots of toys to play with in a big basket and a bunch of bones to chew. My foster mom doesn't like it when I jump up on the sofa so I am trying to learn "down." I guess jumping is something I need to get under control. I like it when my new family pets me and will follow my foster mom around to see what she is doing. I have to sleep in this big crate thing but they don't pay any attention to me when I bark so I guess I will have to get use to it at night and when they leave for a little while. The good news is that they come back. I have been told I keep everyone on their toes. Actually it is me that is often on my back toes! Well, I have to go toss my toys around so will check in with you later.

Bella 13 Weeks Old

Bella crouches into her stealth mode

We celebrated my 13 weeks of life with a trip to Georgia this week. It was so much fun riding in the truck with my foster sister, Meadow. She let me sit on her so I could see out of the windows easier. My foster mom and dad say they are "very impressed" with how well I traveled on such a long trip. When we arrived in Georgia, I met some of my foster families' friends, including Mr. Tim's dog, Licorice. Okay, I'm confused. My mom Crystal, is a Golden. Why do I look more like Licorice than Meadow?  Oh well, Meadow, Licorice, and I had great fun playing togeather.

Bella tackles Meadow

Mr. Tim said it was difficult to see me leave. He wishes he could have kept me. I sure do like Mr. Tim and his dog Licorice! Mr.Tim takes Licorice on walks and plays ball with her. I love it when Mr.Tim tickles my belly and laughs at me. I hope my forever family will be a lot like Mr. Tim and Licorice!

Baby Bella at the Lake

Oh Boy! What an adventure! We went to a lake today. Meadow, my foster sister, was telling me how much fun it is to go swimming. She loves it! So I'm thinking it must be reaaaalllly great, right? Well, I start following Meadow into the lake. Okay, this is no big deal. Game on!
I enjoy a little shore time.

Meadow makes sure I am safe
 Some romping in the water.

Then I fall into this deep part. Well, needless to say, Meadow was a little irritated with me. She said, "You can't go where the big dogs go, pup." Well, maybe next time I'll be a big pup.

Anyway, my foster dad says I did a really good job today and gave
me a treat.  Love those treat moments!

Baby Bella (12 weeks)

Hey Roxie,
It is great to see your picture, and hear you are doing terrific in your foster home.  I sure miss you sis. I have a foster sister to help me through the separation from my siblings. Her name is Meadow. She is going to be 3 years old soon. She knows all the rules around the house, and all the games to play too. We have a great time together.
I know what you mean about that potty outside stuff. I am getting the hang of that too. My foster dad says not to worry too much, I will catch on, and it will be like I've been pottying outside my whole life! He gets up with me early in the morning, and I do a good job of pottying outside. Like you, sometimes I forget. But, that is usually during the day when I get too excited and don't want to take a break from playing, or I just woke up from a nap and forgot to let them know I am awake and ready.  Everyone was really pleased today when I let out a little yelp to go outside. There were smiles all around.
I've also learned to sit. Hey, if your foster asks you to do that! Ohhhh, do it! I get this treat after I sit when they tell me to. Yummy, for my little tummy. Heee, heee. I am in TREAT Heaven here. They even give me one for coming to them when they call my name. I really like this treat stuff!
Roxie, don't worry about that crate thing. I've gotten pretty used to sleeping in mine. It is so safe in there. And, you guessed it, I get a treat for going in.
Have you been walking on a leash, yet? At first, I wasn't too fond of that idea. But, I have learned I can expand my horizons and visit adventurous places when I am on the leash.
I'll keep my paws crossed for us to be adopted soon. In the meantime, I think we are in really good places, sis.
It's time for my nap. This training stuff is hard work. But, oh Girl! It sure is worth it.
I love you sis,
Baby Bella
