Bowen Adopted
I'm so excited! I'm on my way to a new Forever Home! I can tell, these people are really going to spoil me. Ooops, spoil isn't the correct word. These people are going to be quite accommodating to my every need and want. There! That sounds better! Right???
I will be an only dog, and spend just about every waking moment with my new human mom. I can see us snuggling together, taking nice walks, and playing at the dog park in the area. I believe there is a life of love, fun, and attention in my future.
I hope all the other dogs at MTGRR have as happy an ending as me. Hope to see you at the MTGRR picnic in October!

5 Month Old Adoptable, Bowen
I'm Bowen. My previous family surrendered me because their senior dog and I didn't mesh well. Since I am loving the dogs in my foster family, and doing well with them and the cat, it is obvious the problem was not me. I am having a super time here! But, my foster family (while they would like to) can't keep me forever.
While I am a 5 month old puppy, I'm quite big for my age. I have aspirations of being a basketball player, maybe. I will love you up, play with you and any other dogs you might have, and listen to your every word. I am completely house-trained, and don't mind sleeping in a crate. But, if you are inclined to have me sleep with you, I'm on-board with that too.
Today, I enjoyed my first swim lesson. I love to swim! We can even swim together. Or, you can stand on the shore, throw the toy, and I will fetch it for you. See how easy I am to get along with!
If you are wanting a forever companion, I'm your dude! You can find out more about me on the MTGRR website http://www.rescueagolden.org/RP_AdoptMe.asp?aid=1408
That is me on the right. I keep thinking I want to be just like my foster brother, Oliver. My foster family say I'm just like my foster sister, Meadow, when she was my age. In fact, sometimes the call me Meadow Junior (MJ for short). Everybody thinks Meadow and Oliver are great dogs, so I guess being like either of them is okay too.
Am I not an adorable adoptable! Don't forget to check me out on the MTGRR website!

Will you come adopt me this weekend. I am Bear Bruin and I am a large Golden weighing in now at about 90lbs. My foster mom says I have a love for life. I love to cuddle, but if we are not cuddling no worries I will be at your side. If you hand is not petting me I will gently remind you to pet me by nudging your hand with my nose.
It was recently discovered that I had hip dysplasia. Something my foster mom tells me I have had since I was a puppy. I am now on a diet, to try and get my weight down so it will no longer bother my hips. Although my hips do not slow me down, I enjoy chasing my foster brother Pete around and going on walks. My foster mom says you would never know I had hip problems if you look it me.
Until recently I did not know how much fun it was to play with other dogs. But Pete, my foster brother has shown me some of his favorite games, like tug of war and chase. We also both like to sprint after tennis balls to see who can get there first.
I am ready to have my own family that will love me forever, so Please come meet me at the adoption day this Saturday at the Farms.

Charlie Sue
Hi, my name is Charlie Sue. I have this new family, called a foster family. My old family left me outside on a lead. My foster mom told me I was rescued by an organization that doesn't like to see dogs left out that way. Which is okay by me, because I really like being inside too. I have been here since right before Christmas. That's a picture of me with my foster brother. He's pretty cool, he will run with me & play with me & my toys. This place also has another dog & cats. I really like the cats. I don't know why they are always going downstairs. I follow them, but I don't ever see anything worth getting excited about.
My foster mom tells me that one day I will have a permanent family that will love me just as much as she does & even more. She also told me to say how good I am, that I am housetrained and that I can sit on command. Well, gotta go, my foster sister-dog wants to play.

Nelson pays tribute to our veterans
It’s true I was left in a shelter, abandoned and forgotten. I knew not my fate. I was scared and uncertain. But, I was rescued, loved, and provided a purpose.
.
I walk among these men so brave.
Who fought, who paid, who unquestioningly gave.
Their souls still caring in every way.
They still have heart.
They just need me to pave the way.
We are kindred spirits, these men and me. No I did not serve overseas, or go into battle and give unquestioningly. But, we share the glory of serving our country, they in the trenches, and me, well I have it very easy.
These men left family and gave their all.
It was not easy.
It was their call.
So, when we see them, do not pity and do not despair.
I am with them, because I care.
I salute them, and honor them for all they gave. I promise to love them, care for them, and show them the way.

Nelson visits the VA hospital
Michael, if you will make the introductions to the staff, my foster dad, Terry, will help me capture the crowd. I'm ready to show them my new found manners. Foster mom, you remind me when I forget my manners. Okay guys, lets go in there and spread the love and support for all these men have done for us and our country. We are all set to explore my new home. Remember the manners Nelson. Remember the manners. You can do this... This guy likes me! WhoooHoooo! Dream job!
Let me see. How does it feel to chill out around here? Ah huh, feels pretty good. I believe I could get used to hanging around this crowd. Would somebody pleeeease pinch me! I don't know how I got so lucky. First I fall into the hands of the MTGRR, and now this! I must be dreaming. This can't be really happening. It is true. This is real. You can't dream this good. I'm really going to love it here. What! I can't stay??? We are coming back next week? I remembered my manners! Oh, we are going to work on them a little more. Well, okay then. I really do want to be the best dog they ever dreamed of. See you folks next week.

Nelson, Nutty Buddy, and Meadow attend the MTGRR picnic
Today was the Middle Tennessee Golden Retriever Rescue annual picnic. Our day started with a staff meeting about what is expected from us, and appropriate behavior around other dogs and crowds. Nutty Buddy simply yawns. Yeah, yeah... I get it. Meadow says, yes I know, stay with you at all times. Me, Nelson, am rivoted by the thought of getting to meet so many people and dogs. My plan is to play the crowd.
After a little exercise and introductions, some nice young ladies took me for walks through the crowds. I sure did love them young girls. They gave me so much love, cuddles and pets! My only thought the whole day was, WHOOOHOOOO! I am one LUCKY guy. I wonder if I can take them home with me. Probaby can't. So, I'll just soak up their love for a few hours. These photos are just a small sampling of all the people who came out to parade the wonderful canine addition to their family, look for a new canine addition, support the awesome Middle Tennessee Golden Retriever Rescue, or just enjoy the fantastic festivities. This was one great Golden day. How do you know if your Golden had a GREAT day. Well, I think these photos speak for themselves. We are exhausted. I think Nutty Buddy, Meadow, and I, will be sleeping for a week! Well, we will certainly sleep good tonight.
